A Safe Harbor
A Safe Harbor
Isaiah 43:2
Belief is a sketchy word nowadays. People use this word so carelessly. By that I mean, words sometimes have more than one meaning or are just plain used wrong and out of context.
When you use the word belief in a sentence, are you using the word correctly? Do you actually know what the word really means?
Let's define the word 'belief'.
Belief: an acceptance that a statement is true or that something is real.
: trust, faith, or confidence in
something or someone
Many of us would say that we have used it correctly. However, truly question the definition.
This word is tricky to many Christians. In order to truly BELIEVE in someone or something, you must surrender all doubt. Ask yourself, "Have I surrendered all doubt that Jehovah is all-knowing and all-loving?" "Have I surrendered myself whole-heartedly to the will of Jesus Christ and proclaimed Him as my Lord and Saviour?"
When you ask these things of yourself out loud, they tend to take on totally different meanings and evoke totally different feelings and thoughts.
In order for us to comprehend that Jesus, our Saviour, is our 'rock in the harbor, our calm in the storm'...we have MUST have BELIEF that He is the ONE true God and only GOD, of the Earth and the Heavens and NO_ONE is above Him!
Jesus offers us a safe harbor. He offers us eternal life and eternal happiness. What He will give us is far greater than all the riches of Earth.
For us to receive this gift, we MUST give ourselves wholely to our Saviour. We MUST BELIEVE in only Him and humble ourselves to our Sovereign, Lord Jesus Christ. This is the only way for us to receive 'safe harbor' within the torrent to come.
