7 Signs Of The Holy Spirit

7 Signs Of The Holy Spirit

15 "If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. - John 14: 15-18

7 Signs Of The Holy Spirit

The battle between good and evil is a time told trope that many of us tend to take for granted. With so many real-world events and movies always depicting horror, war, and sexual perversion, how could we not simply shut our eyes to it?

For Christians however, this is not applicable. We must always be diligent and on high alert. Unfortunately, there is evil lurking around every corner and hiding in every shadow. But we can take heart! We all have an arsenal of weapons to utilize. And we all don the 'Armor of God'.

We do this through the reception of the Holy Spirit.

Below is a list of the signs that you should look for as you start this battle against the evil one.

1. The unquenchable urge to follow Jesus Christ everywhere, every day! When we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, our minds become unpenetrable to evil doing. We actively seek out like spirits and find it hard to not rejoice in our Lord Jesus. Matthew 22:37-38 "And he said to him, 'you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." This is the greatest and first commandment.

2. Utilizing your spiritual gifts. God has given each of us a purpose. First and foremost is to serve only Him. But in 1 Corinthians 12,13, and 14, the Bible mentions other gifts as well. Spiritual ones. 1.) Wisdom 2.) Healings 3.) Teachings 4.) Miracles 5.) Tongues 6.) Prophecy 8.) Recognizing spirits 9.) Interpretation of tongues 10.) Apostleship and 11.) Administration. 1 Corinthians Chapter 12, the Bible speaks of everyone having a job to do in the body of Christ.

3. Letting go of all "worldly" desires. Colossians 3: 5- 8 "Put to death, therefore what is earthly in you. Sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil, desire, and covetousness, which are idolatry. On account of these things, the wrath of God is coming. In these, you too once walked, when you were living in them. But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth." In other words, when a human being is filled with the Holy Spirit, they set aside all the evils of this Earthly plane and walk only in the path of righteousness. They no longer need to be sated by 'sins of the flesh. Romans 8:5 is another excellent teaching on the topic.

4. Producing the Fruit of the Spirit. Matthew 7:15 20 explains that once filled with the Holy Spirit, we become farmers who feed the congregation with Jesus' teachings. The Fruit of The Spirit (Galatians 5:22)

Joy-The feeling of light in all of us. Being Gods messenger of all things positive and Holy

Peace-freedom from hostility, tranquility

Patience-tolerance

Kindness-generous, friendly and considerate

Goodness-virtuous, moral

Faithfulness-true to only Jehovah and no other

Gentleness-tender and soft-hearted

Self-control-being able to control one's emotions in difficult and scary situations

Love- an intense feeling of tenderness and deep affection

5. You begin to retain Godly Wisdom.1 Corin 2:9-10 says "What no eyes have seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him." Human beings are not perfect but the Holy Spirit is.

6. Becoming one with the Holy Spirit. You begin to wield it like a sword. You give in and let the Holy Spirit do your talking for you and guide your every step.

7. You learn how to 'stir up the Holy Spirit'. This actually means that you simply let the spirit take over and let it fill you at any time or any place. No matter who is around or what is taking place.

Although there are many other aspects of the Holy Spirit, these are the building blocks of a great Christian foundation. These 'blocks' build a truly beautiful relationship with the Lord.
